Nokia 5230 Nuron (T-Mobile)
Nokia 5230 Nuron (T-Mobile)
Nokia 5230 Nuron is a T-Mobile product, it costs $69.99 and you have to sign a two year service agreement. This is a touch screen device having 3G support along with access to the Ovi store. There are also free maps for guiding in case you are lost. I really liked the maps because it doesn’t cost you anything at all. There are maps of Mexico, US and Canada in the device. This phone is quite similar to the 5800 Xpress Music phones. My review model had a white and silver body which looks quite refreshing. The device has a candy bar design and doesn’t weigh much either. The phone is in fact quite lightweight but this doesn’t mean it is fragile. There  [...]

Nokia 5580 – For music enthusiasts
Nokia 5580 – For music enthusiasts
Nokia has been a bit coy about touchscreen technology. They adopted it a lot later than everyone else and I think they did it only because of fear of getting outdated. But there are some good quality Nokia touch screen phones in the market and the Nokia 5580 is one of them. They are good enough to steal potential customers from big players like LG, Samsung and maybe even Apple. When I first picket up the Nokia 5580, I realized that it is nowhere as wide as other phones in the market. The design is standard Nokia in spite of the big screen and the absence of keypad. This is an advantage when you look at other wide bodied phones like Samsung Omnia or iPhone 3G. The quality too is really good and the weight of 109 grams makes sure that the device is well planted in the palm.  [...]

Nokia N series phones – the best ones reviewed
Nokia N series phones – the best ones reviewed
Nokia N series phones have been very popular in the market and that is because of the music features that they have to offer. One of the best Nokia N series phones right now is the Nokia N73. It is not a new handset, the device has been around for a while but it is still selling pretty well. This phone has a 3.2 megapixel which gives good photo quality. The pics look better as compared to other 3.2 MP cameras. Other than that, this vintage N series mobile phone has lots of goodies like Bluetooth, music player, vibrant screen and speakerphone. During my testing, I found out that the phone has a good battery life and the call quality too is decent. This phone does come with  [...]

Nokia Nseries – Some cool facts
Nokia Nseries – Some cool facts
Nokia Nseries phones have been a big hit in the market and it is due to the versatile features that they have to offer. The company has made phones that can be used as music players, cameras and portable computers. The first Nseries gadget to hit the market was Nokia N70 in 2005 and the company has never looked back since then. Here are some cool facts about Nokia Nseries phones that I bet you didn’t know. The Nokia N95 was the first device in the market to have Maps and GPS ever. It not only stored generic country maps but also welcomed the details on the local maps that are now ubiquitous all over. Also, this was the first smartphone to give feature of voice commands and  [...]

Nokia 5220 Xpress Music – Affordable multimedia phone
Nokia 5220 Xpress Music – Affordable multimedia phone
Nokia 5220 Xpress Music is like an innovation because the mobile phone market has been stagnant for a while and a lot of new handsets from Sony Ericsson and Nokia seems like technically and physically rehashed models of the older product with some upgraded specifications. This is an £89 pay-as-you-go device, it is a slim candy bar device with looks very similar to a typical Nokia phone but there are some notable differences. You can get this phone from Virgin Mobile. The vibrant colors and asymmetric funky shape makes the Nokia 5220 Xpress Music phone a device for the youth. I won’t recommend this for corporate businessmen at all; it is more for the  [...]

Nokia N79 review – Cramped navigation controls
Nokia N79 review – Cramped navigation controls
Nokia N79 is good phone but it didn’t get its fair share of limelight as the N96 was released quickly and it stole the N79’s thunder. The N79 does have some flaws in the design but they are easily outweighed by the pros of this handset. The best part of this phone, just like other Nokia N series phones, is its multimedia features. The camera is excellent, such high quality images are rare in camera phones and there are plenty of advanced features as well. Apart from that, the Nokia N79 has plethora of wireless options along with e-mail and productivity suite. This phone can confidently compete with all the highest end smartphones in the market. It is also less expensive than the new N series phones and still offers the same set of features. This phone is now my new favorite from this manufacturer.  [...]

Nokia N82 – Superb picture quality
Nokia N82 – Superb picture quality
N series phones from Nokia have all been really impressive. They are mainly focused on multimedia and these phones are targeted towards to youth more than anyone else. I recommend N series phones for anyone looking for a phone with good music quality. I got the N95 in my labs for reviewing before the feature set on Nokia N82 is quite similar. Both the phones have a five megapixel camera but N82 has Xenon flash which gives absolutely amazing videos and photos. The phone is a solid performer with features like GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The only problem I had here was the design which is a bit disappointing. The exterior feels a bit cheap and a lot needs to be done to improve the navigation buttons. There is also no US 3G support. If these flaws don't matter much to you and if you are looking  [...]

Nokia N75 review – Great call quality
Nokia N75 review – Great call quality
We have been waiting for a long time for this and we are glad to see that Nokia has finally come out with the N75. This phone costs $175 and you have to sign a two year service agreement with AT&T after the rebates. There was a lot of hype built around for this phone and the primary reason for this was because it was the first 3G Symbian phone from this carrier. Another highlight of this handset is its plethora of multimedia capabilities, especially for music. Nokia N75 has got its own positives and negatives. For the pros, it has exceptional call quality and the performance too is much faster than other N series phones we have seen to date. The internal display is really gorgeous and the roomy keypad makes it easy to type. There are external music controls for controlling the playback  [...]

Nokia 7705 Twist (Verizon Wireless) Small square phone
Nokia 7705 Twist (Verizon Wireless) Small square phone
I have never seen a phone like Nokia 7705 Twist and I can confidently say I won’t see this design again. I have reviewed a couple of square and swivel handsets in the past but we haven’t seen a single handset which combines both these features. That was until we had the 7705 in our labs for testing. The design is different from others and it is awkward too. The feature set on this phone is quite good and so is the performance. The tiny keyboard can be used for typing e-mails and messages too but it is not the greatest multimedia phone. This handset is your for $99.99 after a $50 rebate and you have to sign a contract with Verizon, the service provider. Nokia 7705 Twist has a singular design for a mobile phone. It is a perfect square at 2.71 inches by 2.71 inches by 0.59 inch but the  [...]

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic – Music phone for stiff budgets
Nokia 5130 XpressMusic – Music phone for stiff budgets
Nokia 5130 XpressMusic is a phone by T-Mobile and this service provider has been the only one to pick up an XpressMusic phone. Nokia has had three phones before this but none of them were covered by any service provider. As compared to other XpressMusic handsets, this is a bit low end and some corners are being cut in order to keep the price low. If you can let go for some high end features, you will find that this is a great phone with a price tag below $100. The music player is still there but other features of the phone are being cut down. I would recommend this handset to people on a stiff budget looking for a music device. Such handsets give a good blend of music player and standard phone and you don’t have to buy a separate music player. So lets take a look at the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic  [...]
